Rolwaling and Khumbu Region Trek
Gaurishankar and Rolwaling trekking gives an experience of remoteness from this region, romantic view, diverse flora and fauna and local culture. This trek requires good trekking experience and good physical shape. There is the technical route to lepcha Tashi La. One should have a permit to climb a peak to do this route.
There is a large Gompa Bigu Gompa. It is a convent. There are over 300 sisters. Two festivals are celebrated per year at this convent as a manirimdu at Tenngboche Gompa in the Kumbu region. In the Sherpa language Bigu means "Seed". there are Sherpa villages. View of Gaurishankar (7.145m), Melungtse (7.181m), other mountains, good scenery, Beding village (3.690m) and monastery, Na village (4.183m), Tso Rolpa lake are the main attractions.
